The City of Charlottesville Department of Parks and Recreation program holds Parent/Child aquatics courses, Preschool aquatics programs, and American Red Cross learn-to-swim programs, as well as swim team preparation programs. Charlottesville has funded these programs using their existing scholarship program. This scholarship program is being used as a model for our other partner organizations. City of Charlottesville Summer Camp Program (June-September )

The City of Charlottesville runs a 6-10 week class from June-September at City pools. As part of this camp, swim lessons take place for 90 minutes per day, 4 days a week, for the 6 week program. 48 children will take the course one day per week for 6 weeks (6 lessons). This summer camp trains 250 swimmers over the 10 week program. BH-JSL is providing funding for WSIs and lifeguards. BH-JSL will also provide a number of volunteer WSIs and swim aides.
